Our client recently purchased a cottage and wanted some comforts of home. We ran all the wiring behind the wall paneling, mounted the TV and component shelf below it for the satellite receiver. Although it doesn’t look like a complicated install, the wood paneling is 1/4 inch thick followed by the strapping that measured 1/4 inch x 1 inch followed by a 2 inch foam insulation. Not strong enough to hold up the weight of a full motion mount. we installed metal sleeves right down tho the studs and used 5″ lag bolts to secure the mount to the framing.
